Email List Bulletin

The purpose of the CSTSPnet electronic mailing list Bulletin is to support the goals of the Science, Technology and Security Initiative of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. In that regard, the Bulletin offers useful information to "support a new generation of experts" to provide scientific and technical advice on issues related to national and international security policy. In addition to what we post, we invite your submissions of items that you would like to bring to the attention of the other MacArthur centers and the security policy community, such as recent publications, reports, studies, events you are hosting, etc. We recommend that you not send us large articles, but rather a brief description of the article and a web or e-mail address where it can be found. The Bulletin provides the following kinds of information for the science and security policy community and can certainly be adjusted as required:

  1. Events - These include relevant committee meetings and hearings on the Hill, executive branch meetings, conferences hosted by nongovernmental organizations and events sponsored by the MacArthur centers.
  2. Grants - These funding opportunities include the programs of governmental agencies and private foundations focused on science and security issues.
  3. Fellowships - These opportunities are for students, postdocs and researchers and come from both the governmental and nongovernmental sectors.
  4. Internships - These provide practical work experience for students and graduate students in government agencies, Congress, think tanks, AAAS, etc., including the MacArthur Centers. They may be both paid and unpaid positions.
  5. Jobs - These include professional career opportunities in the field of science and security in government, academia, think tanks, etc.
  6. Noteworthy - This section includes titles or brief summaries of important articles, speeches, research or other materials with links to where they can be found.

The CSTSPnet electronic mailing list Bulletin functions as a moderated electronic mailing list. All submissions will be reviewed and assembled in CSTSP for periodic distribution in the Bulletin.
