There has been a great deal of attention paid to the question of whether doctors, hospitals, and schools are prepared for an outbreak of swine flu. But what about the legal implications of various government responses to such a crisis? Our panel discussion will examine the legal and constitutional implications of the government's response to a potential H1N1 pandemic, including mandatory vaccinations and quarantines. Panelists will also discuss the powers available to local, state, and federal bodies in times of public health emergencies.
A light lunch will be served.
Panelists include:
Michael Greenberger, Professor of Law and Director, University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security
Wendy Mariner, Professor of Law, Boston University School of Law
Dr. Marita Mike, Health Director, University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security
